MULBERRY SS14

campaign:   mulberry ss14

REJOICE! Spring/Summer 14 campaigns and collections are slowly creeping in, full force. The thought of dresses, no tights and sunshine is enough to put a smile on anyones face (But quickly dampened by the temperamental British weather, no doubt). Either way, SS14 campaigns are what I look forward to pretty much all year round, rain or shine, and none more so than those of Mulberry (heart skips a beat)...

Flowers, ponies, and the sugar-sweet Cara D combine to make a very idyllic and British team. And of course, the iconic Mulberry handbags are the icing on the cake with variations on the classic Bayswater, as well as new designs and clutches that I can only dream about right now (hello empty bank account - thanks, Christmas!). Bright colours against a simple but perfectly Summery backdrop and some canine companions mean Mulberry is definitely a brand who I'm more than looking forward to lusting over in the coming season.

Speaking of SS14 campaigns, Miley Cyrus as one of the new faces of Marc Jacobs? Didn't see that one coming. I will keep my opinions on the matter to myself...ha!

DENIM DENIMS

wearing:   zara coat   |   asos jeans   |   topshop speckled jumper   |   h&m shirt   |   primark necklace   |   primark fur collar   |   river island pumps   |   mulberry handbag

Denim, denim. A bit of a life saver, eh? The do it all piece for when you haven't the foggiest what to wear (this is all getting a little bit philosophical, no?). So why so passionate about denim lately, I hear you ask? WELL, if you're asking, the lovely folks over at Stylight have asked me to take part in a very exciting little blogger competition they're doing, made up of 20 bloggers from the 7 countries they work in competing on a national, then international level for a lovely final prize of an all expenses paid trip to Berlin Fashion Week in Januray (ooh, exciting). The first round (of 3) has a denim theme...hence the excitement.

So if you have a Stylight account and fancy giving me a follow and a 'heart' on my denim concoction (ha!) feel free to be kind and do so here! Even if not, you can still have a gander around their wonderful site and a nosey at my profile! (But it'd be really nice to go to Berlin Fashion Week. Really nice...).

AND Zara coat reduced to £29.99 - erm, Hello! Happy Lydia.

Also, you can check out a little interview-y thing that I did for international shopping blog 'Shopping Unlike' a few weeks ago here (excitingggggg).

7 DAYS IN 7 INCHES

wearing:   ikrush rhianon heels*

The clue is in the title of this post. When the lovely folks at iKrush contacted me a few weeks ago asking if I'd be willing to take part in their '7 days in 7 inches' challenge, I can't deny I panicked a little. Myself and shoes have a love-hate relationship: I love them deeply, but this is an unrequited love, for sure. Also, imagine Bambi on ice; this is exactly how I look wearing shoes higher than 4 inch (I know, 4 inches. What am I?!).

But, I took the pillow away from my eyes for long enough to man up. When my lovely Rhianon heels arrived, the challenge was well and truly on (mainly with myself to prove that I can wear high shoes for longer than 2 hours without crying). For 7 WHOLE DAYS, these shoes were mine to love and care for...

wearing:   vero moda vest   |   h&m floral trousers   |   ikrush heels*   |   vintage clutch   |   h&m rings   |   jakarta necklace

When I first put on the shoes, I immediately felt like I was about to topple over (probably because I'm such a high shoe rookie!) but when I got used to wearing them, they were actually surprisingly comfortable AND easy to walk in, believe it or not!

Okay, so I'll hold my hands up and admit I didn't manage 7 days (shock) but 5/7 is a pretty good effort for me, no? These shoes are so versatile and can easily be dressed up with a nice dress and clutch or down with a pair of skinnies for daytime and you can take it from me, they aren't half as painful as you'd think a pair of 7 inch heels would be. And a bargain for just £29.99!

Check out the iKrush website here for lots of other lovely treats (ah-maaazing for mini dresses, too!)

THE LUST LIST

lusting:   maison martin margiela black oversized leather jacket   |   acne grey mohair jumper dress   |   rag & bone leather belt   |   saint laurent grey felt fedora   |   acne ankle boots   |   mulberry small willow tote

Okay, I hate to be the one to say it, BUT I can't wait for winter. There, it's out. Not for the terrible weather or holidays or anything like that (I can't deny I do LOVE Christmas though), but because I'm already desperate to put on a chunky oversized coat, throw on some cheeky ankle boots and head out of the door and into the crisp winter air (sounds romantic, eh?). It'll probably be more of a 'head out of the door, slip on some ice and make a fool of myself' situation, but who says you can't fall, whilst looking great? Ha!

I couldn't help but make myself a little lust list. Admittedly, there are a billion other items I could have added to this (er, hello! H&M Fall/Winter 13 collection!) but instead, I opted for cutting it down to those things I really can't afford this season and will therefore be lusting over for a long, long time.

I'm in love with Acne. Everything about it, and this oversized jumper dress would be perfect, especially with the chunky ankle boots and a belt. I'm a sucker for a handbag and if I could, I'd snap up the small Mulberry willow tote asap. But I don't have money coming out of my ears, so it's a no for now (note: for now). But the Saint Laurent grey felt fedora is the ultimate lust. This one is PRETTY pricey, so I say a good dupe is definitely on the cards for winter. My new mission!

ALL IN WHITE

wearing:   h&m top   |   h&m skirt   |   converse shoes   |   mulberry bag   |   marc jacobs watch

Judging by these photos, you wouldn't have guessed that this was the ultimate lazy(ish) day for me. Waking up late in the new apartment (Eeep! New apartment!) and then a late brunch with my photography flatmate Hannah (hence the photographs, ha!) was perfect after a busy few weeks for me. It was so nice to relax and settle into our 'new home', even if it is a little messy, and then have a wander around a Flying Ant swarmed city centre.

Excuse the huge bruises on my legs. Believe it or not, I haven't been involved in any kind of brawl, just some (admittedly horrific) drunken dancing with my brother the other night...Oops, ha! Shamefully, the tag on this skirt was ripped off today after it's been hanging in my wardrobe for a year whilst I 'uhmm-ed and ahhh-ed' about what to wear it with! So today was it's first preview and even though it's a little big, I do love it. First time for everything though, eh?! My top is also H&M and shoes are converse (apologies for how filthy they are, this whole moving in business means my shoe wardrobe is all over the place). My bag, A.K.A my baby, is Mulberry and watch is Marc Jacobs. Random mix, I know, but perfect for a chilled day!
